Trying to find enough time to keep up with what seems like your never-ending to-do list and still have a social life can sometimes feel impossible. To help you out, here are five ways to help you gain control, be more productive, and make the most out of your day.
Starting the day with a clear mind and with a clear focus will help you get ready to tackle your tasks for the day. Whatever thoughts, fears, or worries that you have in your mind bank from the previous day deposit it every morning. It will also help with sparking creativity – you never know your next million-pound idea can be birthed from your mediation/journaling sessions.
Your work environment matters. Whether it's your home office, designated workspace, or just an area in your house where you can create into a work oasis. Add pictures, flowers, quotes – whatever brings you joy add elements of that into your workspace it will help with your overall productivity and your mood.
Lists are always an easy way to bring structure to your day, not only does it allow you to layout the things you have pending but it also helps with giving you that motivation to keep going as you see things being ticked off your list. Whether you prefer pen & paper, the notes section in your phone, or an app like TimeTree (which is a personal favorite) whatever method you choose as long as the list is created you are off to a great start.
In the days of social media and smartphones distractions are at an all-time high. Identify the apps that consume the most of your time with your aimless scrolling and delete them at the beginning of the day and reinstall it once everything on your list is ticked off. Out of sight, out of mind! Eventually, it will become second nature to you that you would not have to consistently keep deleting and reinstalling apps.
You are not a machine and should not attempt to operate like one! Incorporating breaks into your day will not only help with your joints, but it will also help is keeping you engaged and motivated for your tasks for the day. You don’t want your workdays to feel like a punishment so allowing breaks to catch up on an episode of your favorite series on Netflix or to have a cup of tea or even go an take the dog for a walk – whatever it is make time for it!
